Disaster manager is the person responsible for analysis, assessment, coordination and training for a disaster response.

The role of a disaster manager is to plan, coordinate, and implement strategies for managing and responding to disasters. Disaster managers work with government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and community groups to ensure that emergency response plans are in place and that they are effective in the event of a disaster.

The roles of a disaster manager involve coordinating and managing the response to natural or man-made disasters to minimize the impact on people and the environment. Here are some of the key roles of a disaster manager:

  1. Risk Assessment: The disaster manager needs to assess the risks and vulnerabilities associated with different types of disasters and develop plans to mitigate them.
  2. Preparedness: Disaster managers develop plans, protocols and procedures to prepare for different types of disasters. This includes identifying resources and preparing emergency response teams.
  3. Response: During a disaster, the disaster manager coordinates the emergency response activities, including rescue, relief and medical assistance.
  4. Communication: The disaster manager is responsible for maintaining open communication channels with all stakeholders including the public, government agencies and other organizations to ensure that everyone is informed and on the same page.
  5. Recovery: After the disaster, the disaster manager leads the efforts to restore normalcy by coordinating activities such as debris removal, reconstruction and rehabilitation.
  6. Training and Awareness: The disaster manager is responsible for training the emergency response teams, and raising awareness among the public about the risks associated with different types of disasters and how to prepare for them.

need during and after a disaster.
